Go3Racing Visits Dave Johnson's Shop In Madison
A popular spot amongst the boat racing community has been a stop to Dave Johnson's Shop and Museum on a Friday evening in Madison, IN. A crew member through the 70's and 80's as well as a boat race and boat builder Johnson has made many friends across the country and also amassed a large memorabilia collection ranging from autograph pictures, driver suites, team uniforms, and thousands of buttons and patches. A well layed out food spread and many long time crew members and fans greet you when you walk into the shop. The Miss Jean (Dave's pride hydroplane) sits in the driveway waiting to be trailer fired to give the many friends gathered what they want, a look into the past but also with an eye to the future. Legendary drivers Ron Snyder, Billy Cousins, and Buddy Byers can often be spotted at Johnson's on regatta weekend. Go3Racing was there on Friday and captured the essence of what makes Johnson's shop so special on a hot summer evening in the mid west.
