Bad luck struck Jimmy King and Miss Chrysler Jeep at the APBA Gold Cup again this afternoon. On the 3rd lap of Heat 1B, those two words Ed Cooper and Go3 Racing Team hate to hear: engine failure.

Exiting the first turn, Jimmy heard a pop and the Miss Chrysler Jeep slowed to a floating stop on the Detroit River. Another DNF for the U-3. Ed Cooper said the boat was running flawlessly, all the systems were running as they were supposed to and the engine let go. The culperate was a broken rid in the bottom end of the Allison V-12 engine. The result was a hige hole and this engine has been retire for the weekend. Two more engines to go for the Go3 Racing Team this weekend.

The team is now preparing another engine and will compete in Heat 2B. No other damage was reported to the hull when she was towed back to the pits.
